Album Notes & Community Reviews

A masterpiece of studio innovation, this track is famous for its ethereal, ghostly backing track created by layering multiple tape loops of the band members singing single notes. Eric Stewart penned the lyrics as a defensive denial of romantic feelings, juxtaposed against the lush, sweeping sonic arrangement. The painstaking production process, involving endless looping around microphone stands in the studio, resulted in one of the most unique ballads of the 1970s.
