Album Notes & Community Reviews
Built almost entirely around a brilliantly chopped and looped drum break sampled from The Meters' 'Oh, Calcutta!'. Producer Rich Harrison's frantic, aggressive go-go funk production perfectly supports the urgent, breathless R&B vocal performance, creating an absolute masterclass in kinetic, sample-driven pop music. It remains an enduring, widely acclaimed highlight of mid-2000s R&B.
