Album Notes & Community Reviews

Brilliantly applying the rigid instrumentation of a military brass band to the syncopated rhythms of the cakewalk, this acoustic release captures the high-stepping energy of turn-of-the-century dance crazes. The complex, intertwining horn lines highlight the virtuosity of the ensemble and the massive popularity of orchestrated ragtime.
