Careless Love Blues / He's Gone Blues

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Featuring the 'Empress of the Blues' accompanied by a small jazz ensemble including Louis Armstrong on cornet, this release highlights a monumental collaboration between two jazz and blues titans. The commanding vocal performance elevates traditional folk-blues material into a sophisticated, theatrical expression of heartbreak. It serves as a defining artifact of the classic female blues era.
