Album Notes & Community Reviews
Dropped as a surprise release just one day before her Super Bowl 50 halftime performance, this track stands as a monumental cultural event. The Mike Will Made It-produced beat blends bounce and trap elements to back Beyonc茅's unapologetic celebration of Black Southern heritage and female empowerment. Its highly political, New Orleans-shot music video directly addressed police brutality and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
