Bad Guy

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Built on a heavy, pulsating synth-bass riff and a playfully menacing, whispered vocal delivery, this track successfully fused underground tech-house aesthetics with massive mainstream pop appeal. Produced entirely by her brother Finneas, the song eschews a traditional explosive chorus in favor of a catchy, minimalist instrumental hook. It ultimately became a defining hit of the year, famously dethroning 'Old Town Road' to claim the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
