Pistol Packin' Mama / Vict'ry Polka

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Adapting a massive country-western novelty hit for the mainstream pop market, this superstar collaboration relies on incredibly tight vocal harmonies and an infectiously bouncy rhythm. The arrangement completely removes the rough edges of the original, replacing rural twang with polished, high-energy swing vocalization. The record perfectly exemplifies the wartime recording industry's focus on cheerful, morale-boosting escapism.
