Album Notes & Community Reviews
Built around Biz Markie's off-key interpolation of Freddie Scott's 'You Got What I Need', 'Just a Friend' turned vulnerability and comic timing into a crossover rap hit. Its narrative structure and memorable chorus made it one of hip-hop's most recognizable singles.
