Album Notes & Community Reviews

Driven by rapid, single-string guitar runs that act as a second voice, this recording is a foundational pillar of the Texas country blues tradition. The high, keening vocal delivery and irregular phrasing deeply influenced the next generation of acoustic bluesmen and helped establish the commercial viability of race records.
