Album Notes & Community Reviews

Born entirely from a spontaneous studio improvisation by the Stax Records house band while waiting for a delayed session. Driven by Booker T. Jones' iconic Hammond M3 organ riff and Steve Cropper's biting, staccato guitar chops, the instrumental track exudes an effortless, undeniably cool Memphis soul groove. It became one of the most recognizable instrumental hits in American music history.
