Album Notes & Community Reviews
Produced by Bloodshy & Avant, 'Toxic' elevated 2000s pop music through its hyperactive, genre-blending arrangement. The track is built on high-pitched Bollywood strings sampled from Lata Mangeshkar, surf-rock guitar lines, and aggressive techno synthesizers. Spears' breathy, confident delivery of a narrative involving a dangerous lover earned her a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording.
