Album Notes & Community Reviews

Co-written by Trevor Horn, Geoff Downes, and Bruce Woolley, this meticulously orchestrated pop song reflects on the obsolescence of 20th-century technology and media. The track pairs a driving bassline and shimmering Prophet-5 synthesizers with female backing singers mimicking a Greek chorus. It achieved eternal cultural significance on August 1, 1981, when it was selected as the very first music video ever broadcast on MTV.
