Album Notes & Community Reviews
Forged from the artist's experiences in the Mississippi State Penitentiary, this stark recording pairs an aggressive, percussive National steel guitar technique with a harsh, unyielding vocal delivery. The harrowing lyrical focus on mortality and incarceration provides an unflinching look at the brutal realities of the pre-war Southern justice system.
