Album Notes & Community Reviews
Conceived as a direct, playful response to Lloyd Cole's 1984 single 'Are You Ready to Be Heartbroken?', this track masterfully revives the lush, orchestrated pop aesthetics of the Brill Building era. Its soaring string arrangements and Tracyanne Campbell's wry, bittersweet vocal delivery marked a significant leap in production quality for the Scottish indie-pop group. The song's infectious charm garnered extensive international acclaim and prominent placement in independent cinema.
