Good Luck, Babe!

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Co-written with Dan Nigro, this massive synth-pop anthem explicitly addresses the complexities of compulsory heterosexuality and queer romantic denial. Driven by bouncing 1980s synthesizers and Roan's soaring, theatrical vocal performance, the lyrics bitterly predict a closeted ex-partner's future unhappiness with a man. The song functioned as a major cultural tipping point, rapidly propelling Roan from underground cult favorite into mainstream pop stardom.
