Let's Dance / Cat People (Putting Out Fire)

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Co-produced by Nile Rodgers of Chic, this infectious track marked Bowie's sharp, highly successful pivot away from experimental rock into massive mainstream pop. The song notably features a blistering, blues-inflected guitar solo performed by a then-unknown Stevie Ray Vaughan, whom Bowie had discovered playing at the Montreux Jazz Festival. It remains one of Bowie's best-selling singles worldwide.
