Album Notes & Community Reviews
Released completely without warning on the artist's 66th birthday, this somber, piano-led ballad ended an unexpected decade-long retirement. The lyrics find the legendary musician reflecting on his time living in Berlin during the 1970s, delivering a deeply nostalgic, fragile vocal performance. The surprise release shocked the music industry and initiated a massive, critically acclaimed late-career renaissance.
