Midnight in a Perfect World

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Constructed entirely on an Akai MPC60 sampler, this sprawling masterpiece serves as the emotional anchor for the groundbreaking 'Endtroducing.....'. The track brilliantly weaves a haunting piano loop from David Axelrod alongside a melancholic vocal snippet from Marlena Shaw, creating a profound sense of nocturnal isolation. It established DJ Shadow as a primary architect of instrumental hip-hop and sample-based composition.
