Album Notes & Community Reviews

Driven by a completely unique, blues-inflected three-finger banjo picking style, this haunting recording bridges Appalachian folk with African-American vernacular traditions. The harsh, nasal vocal delivery conveys a profound sense of world-weariness, creating one of the most chilling and distinctive artifacts of early mountain music.
