My Name Is

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Utilizing a bouncing, instantly recognizable sample from Labi Siffre's 'I Got The...', this single served as a wildly provocative introduction to the rapper's alter-ego, Slim Shady. Dr. Dre's crisp, minimalist production provides the perfect backdrop for Eminem's dizzying, highly controversial verses attacking celebrity culture and social decencies. It broke massive commercial ground, establishing him as a brilliantly transgressive new force in global pop culture.
