Album Notes & Community Reviews
Constructed almost entirely around a stunning, circular four-part vocal harmony, the song paints a vivid, pastoral landscape reminiscent of traditional American folk hymnals. Robin Pecknold's poetic lyrics contrast innocent childhood imagery with subtle, slightly ominous undertones. The track fundamentally shaped the late-2000s indie-folk boom, popularized by its lush, acoustic warmth and reverb-drenched production.
