Thinkin Bout You

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originally written for Bridget Kelly before the artist reclaimed it for his own legendary debut album, this atmospheric ballad relies on a sparse, swelling synthesizer loop and incredibly tender vocal runs. The lyrics use clever misdirection and sarcasm to mask a profound, lingering vulnerability over an unrequited love. The track was highly praised for its sophisticated vulnerability, effectively reshaping the emotional landscape of contemporary R&B.
