Flesh Without Blood

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Shedding the murky, lo-fi aesthetics of her breakthrough album, this lead single embraced pristine, guitar-driven pop-rock. The track relies on a driving bassline, heavily processed acoustic guitars, and soaring, melodic vocal hooks that address the dissolution of a close platonic friendship. The pivot to highly accessible, brightly lit pop music alienated some early underground fans but cemented her status as a singular pop auteur.
