Album Notes & Community Reviews

Alongside 'Oblivion', this track launched the 'Visions' album into the indie-pop stratosphere. Claire Boucher (Grimes) heavily layered her breathy, wordless soprano vocals over a sparse, hypnotic synthesizer progression played on a Roland Juno-G, heavily influenced by medieval choir music and contemporary R&B. Its self-directed music video, featuring swords, snakes, and anime-inspired fashion in a desert landscape, solidified her bizarre, internet-native aesthetic.
