Oblivion

Constructed almost entirely in GarageBand using a Juno-G synthesizer, 'Oblivion' juxtaposes cheerful, bouncing synth loops against whispered, high-register vocals. Claire Boucher wrote the song as an empowering response to a traumatic assault, transforming her anxiety into a commanding, infectious dance track. The iconic music video, shot guerilla-style at a Montreal motocross rally and football stadium, became a definitive visual touchstone of early-2010s indie music.
