Album Notes & Community Reviews

Featuring a massive vocal performance by Helen Forrest, this multi-million selling hit perfectly balances sentimental romanticism with a robust, driving brass arrangement. The bandleader's pristine, vibrato-heavy trumpet solos shine against the polished, highly rehearsed section work that dominated wartime radio. The single stands as a definitive, commercial peak for the sweeter, vocalist-driven side of the big band era.
