You Are My Sunshine / Old Timer

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Presenting the most commercially successful and culturally enduring recording of a legendary standard, this release features a warm, relaxed vocal delivery paired with a subtle steel guitar. Despite the deceptively cheerful chorus, the verses reveal a deeply melancholic narrative of romantic desperation and loss. The massive popularity of the single propelled the artist into significant political success and cemented the song as a universal American anthem.
