Slow Dancing in the Dark

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Distancing himself from his previous comedic internet persona, Joji fully embraces a melancholic, lo-fi R&B aesthetic with this breakout single[cite: 3]. Co-produced by Patrick Wimberly of Chairlift, the track features swelling synthesizers and a pained, intensely emotional vocal performance detailing a failing relationship[cite: 3]. It quickly became a signature anthem for the 'sad boy' music phenomenon on platforms like TikTok and YouTube.
