Love Will Tear Us Apart / These Days

Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Love Will Tear Us Apart' serves as Ian Curtis's posthumous signature work, completed mere months before his suicide. Its lyrical content reflects his deteriorating mental state and failing marriage, contrasted against Stephen Morris's urgent, motorik-inspired drum rhythms and Bernard Sumner's melancholic synthesizer leads. The single profoundly influenced the trajectory of dark alternative music in the following decades.
