Album Notes & Community Reviews

Driven by Peter Hook's prominent, melodic bassline and a frantic, building momentum, 'Transmission' encapsulates the kinetic energy of Joy Division's early live performances. The song aggressively commands the listener to disconnect from the radio and dance, reflecting themes of mass media alienation. It remains one of the defining anthems of the late 1970s British post-punk explosion.
