Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by Timbaland, this track deliberately rejected traditional R&B melodicism in favor of distorted, processed vocals and an aggressively repetitive, stripped-down electroclash beat. Its radical, futuristic production became a global club phenomenon and effectively reshaped the sonic landscape of mainstream pop music. The song secured Timberlake's first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100.
