Blood on the Leaves

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Arguably the most bombastic and controversial track on 'Yeezus', this song drastically juxtaposes a prominent sample of Nina Simone's anti-lynching anthem 'Strange Fruit' with blaring trap horns from TNGHT. Kanye West delivers an impassioned, auto-tuned narrative concerning the isolating pitfalls of fame, alimony, and failed relationships. The track's abrasive industrial-trap drops made it a chaotic, defining staple of his legendary live performances.
