Album Notes & Community Reviews
Built around a heavily interpolated vocal performance from Jamie Foxx and a sample of Ray Charles' 'I Got a Woman', 'Gold Digger' masterfully balances humorous storytelling with infectious pop-rap sensibilities. The track's minimalist, stomping club beat propelled it to spend ten weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. It secured West's status as an unstoppable commercial force and remains one of the highest-selling digital singles of all time.
