Power

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as the colossal comeback single following his self-imposed exile, 'Power' is built around a heavy, distorted vocal sample of King Crimson's '21st Century Schizoid Man'. Co-produced by S1, the track incorporates tribal chanting and massive stadium-rock drums to underscore West's lyrical exploration of celebrity godhood and suicidal ideation. The track signaled a return to maximalist hip-hop production following the minimalist aesthetic of '808s & Heartbreak'.
