Album Notes & Community Reviews
Released when she was just nineteen, Kate Bush's debut single interprets Emily Bront毛's classic novel from the perspective of the ghostly Catherine Earnshaw. Bush's astonishing upper-register vocal acrobatics and the song's complex, soaring orchestral arrangement defied every prevailing punk and disco trend of the era. It made her the first female artist to achieve a UK number one with a self-penned song.
