Roar

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking a pivot toward empowerment-focused anthems, this stadium-ready pop track utilizes a driving, mid-tempo drum arrangement and incredibly straightforward, motivational lyricism. Co-written with Dr. Luke and Max Martin, it became a massive commercial behemoth, though it faced scrutiny for its similarities to Sara Bareilles's 'Brave'. The song's massive success reinforced the artist's dominance over mainstream pop radio during the decade.
