The Heart Part 5

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Built around a vibrant, driving sample of Marvin Gaye's 'I Want You', this promotional single served as the highly anticipated prelude to 'Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers'. Lamar employs intricate wordplay and shifting perspectives to dissect Black American culture, empathy, and the destructive nature of systemic violence. The accompanying video utilized deepfake technology, morphing his face into controversial and tragic public figures to match the narrative.
