Album Notes & Community Reviews
Paying heavy auditory homage to the Europop of ABBA and Ace of Base, this synth-driven track serves as a melancholic farewell to a string of Latin-named lovers. Produced alongside RedOne, the song contrasts its incredibly catchy, radio-friendly beat with themes of emotional unavailability and religious oppression. Its Steven Klein-directed music video, featuring dark, fascistic imagery and religious subversion, courted immense public controversy.
