Lied eines jungen Wachtpostens (Lili Marlen) / Drei rote Rosen (Gedenken)

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originally recorded in relative obscurity, this understated, melancholic performance became an unprecedented international phenomenon when broadcast over military radio during World War II. The singer's direct, sentimental delivery perfectly captured the universal longing and separation experienced by soldiers across all fronts. It remains one of the most culturally significant and widely translated popular songs of the twentieth century.
