Album Notes & Community Reviews

Written by a then-15-year-old Lorde, this ambient-leaning synth-pop track perfectly encapsulates the terrifying transition from adolescence to adulthood. The production features a pulsing, heartbeat-like rhythm and layered, atmospheric vocals that build into an emotional crescendo. It has endured as a profound coming-of-age anthem, deeply resonating with a generation facing the anxieties of growing up.
