Album Notes & Community Reviews
Transforming a 1949 instrumental mambo composition by P茅rez Prado into a relentlessly upbeat novelty hit, this single dominated international airwaves at the close of the decade. Lou Bega added a bouncy, modernized electronic swing rhythm and infectious lyrical roll-calls of various women's names. Its overwhelming ubiquity made it one of the most recognizable and commercially successful dance-pop crossovers of the late 90s.
