Church Bells Blues / Cocaine Blues

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Highlighting the complex, ragtime-influenced guitar technique of the East Coast style, this release features an incredibly fast, clean fingerpicking pattern. The artist delivers the lyrics with a smooth, almost conversational articulation, contrasting heavily with the gritty intensity of Delta musicians. The B-side's frank discussion of drug use within an upbeat, bouncy musical framework makes it a fascinating, enduring cultural artifact.
