Album Notes & Community Reviews
Featured prominently in the film 'Desperately Seeking Susan', 'Into the Groove' was heavily inspired by the vibrant, underground dance culture of early-1980s New York City. Co-written with frequent collaborator Stephen Bray, the track relies on heavy drum machines, syncopated synth-bass, and unbridled pop joy. It became Madonna's first number-one single in the United Kingdom, cementing her transition from club sensation to global pop royalty.
