Album Notes & Community Reviews
A clever, robotic slice of synthpop, 'Material Girl' cemented Madonna's provocative image with its unapologetically materialistic lyrical stance. Supported by a music video that famously recreated Marilyn Monroe's 'Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend' sequence, the single became a defining, slightly satirical pop culture moment of the decade.
