Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking Michael Jackson's first solo release over which he held complete creative control, this track initiated his legendary partnership with producer Quincy Jones. The frantic, joyous rhythm features a driving bassline, sweeping string arrangements, and percussion created by Jackson's brother Randy striking glass bottles with drumsticks. It served as the ultimate declaration of his departure from the Motown sound into global disco-pop dominance.
