Inspired by watching balloons released into the sky at a Rolling Stones concert in West Berlin, guitarist Carlo Karges penned a Cold War narrative where harmless balloons inadvertently trigger a nuclear holocaust. The track's incredibly infectious, synth-driven pop arrangement perfectly masks its devastating, apocalyptic lyricism. Incredibly, the original German-language version dominated international charts, often outperforming the subsequently recorded English translation.
