Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as Jeff Mangum's first official release under the Neutral Milk Hotel moniker, this debut 7-inch captures the raw, fuzzed-out origins of the influential Elephant 6 collective. The tracks are steeped in a noisy, distorted lo-fi aesthetic while still showcasing Mangum's knack for deeply sentimental, Beatles-esque pop melodies. It offered an early glimpse into the sprawling, psychedelic ambition of his later masterpieces.
