Under Pressure / Soul Brother

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Born from an impromptu, wine-fueled jam session at Mountain Studios in Switzerland, this spontaneous collaboration birthed one of John Deacon's most iconic and frequently sampled basslines. David Bowie and Freddie Mercury famously recorded their vocal takes independently, layering intense, improvisational scat-singing against powerful lyrics addressing societal alienation and the terror of modern living. It became a monumental transatlantic number-one hit.
