Album Notes & Community Reviews
Featuring a chilling, microtonal string arrangement composed by Jonny Greenwood using the ondes Martenot, this ambient-rock ballad operates as the emotional nucleus of 'Kid A'. Thom Yorke wrote the lyrics based on advice given to him by Michael Stipe of R.E.M. regarding how to mentally cope with the extreme touring pressures of the 'OK Computer' era. Yorke has frequently cited it as his proudest achievement within Radiohead's vast discography.
