Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Makeshift Patriot' was written and released by underground rapper Sage Francis in October 2001, in direct response to the September 11 attacks and their media coverage. Circulated free online, the spoken-word-inflected track became one of the first widely shared protest recordings of the post-9/11 period and a signature of Francis's political writing.
